You want to tell your loved one how you feel but the words just never seem to come out right. Does this sound like you?
Romantic at Heart can help!
Since the internet has become the single, most widespread form of communication, the writing of love letters has dwindled.
Which is the very reason this once common practice is now considered one of the most romantic ideas. Okay, so you are
convinced you want to write a love letter, but how do you get started? First, it should be hand written. No typed and
printed love letter, even if you decide to use the internet to get a few ideas about what to say. Second, make it personal
and from the heart. Begin with a warm, romantic salutation such as "my beloved
name" or "my dearest
name."
That was the easy part. Right? You've had those very words scribbled on the paper before but the body of the love
letter is where you get stuck. Well, we promised we could help! As we have already mentioned, you should write from your
heart. Tell your spouse or loved one exactly how you feel, what you love about them, and be specific. A great way to put
your feelings into words is to compare their virtues with your shortcomings. Be careful, you don't want your love
letter to become a list of your own faults. Instead, use this method to compliment and uplift your loved one and all that
he / she does for you.
Here are a few other tips to help you write a love letter:
- recall when you fell in love
- list some of the many things you have in common
- recall special and meaningful events in your relationship
- write with detail and give examples (Instead of "you are the most romantic man I know" try, "kissing you in the pouring
rain was the most romantic thing i have ever experienced.") Giving examples and explaining why you feel the way you do makes
your love letter seem more sincere because it recalls the events of your relationship to memory as your loved one reads it.
- use a romantic closing such as "With undying love," or "Forever yours"
- Seal it with a kiss or add a touch of scent, you can even place rose petals or a little confetti in the envelope
